On 25 November, Serge Tisseron presented to Madame Agnès CANAYER, Minister Delegate for the Family and Early Childhood, a set of measures aimed at valuing and supporting parenthood in a digital world in which the family increasingly fails to function as a group. This support for parenthood, designed as a response to questions all parents ask themselves, aims to develop new shared rituals that teach our children to reinvest in close, face-to-face contact. Its principles are those of the 3/6/9/12 milestones: alternating screen and non-screen activities, support adapted to the child’s age, and learning to wait and to control one’s impulses. The advice that follows begins with not using digital tools during meals, in order to favour conversation, and sleeping without one’s smartphone.
