COLORI, learning to code from age 3, without screens, in the Montessori spirit

Since September 2017, COLORI has been offering workshops introducing children aged 3 to 6 to code and digital culture, without screens, in the Montessori spirit.
The workshops take place in schools, during school or after-school time, or in leisure centres. COLORI is also opening its own venue in October in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.
Training for adults (free for state school teachers) is offered all year round to educators who wish to introduce this approach in their classroom or setting.
Among the activities on offer, children can programme the movements of the Cubetto robot on a mat laid on the floor. They insert their instructions into a programming board and run their programme. The robot then moves according to the code the children have devised.
They can get started with binary thinking by making mosaic drawings from a code made up of 1s and 0s.
The children also discover the world of Ayo the Robot, a story told in several episodes that introduces computing concepts such as algorithms or Boolean logic.
