Passing on the joy of cinema to children is not an easy thing. How do we make our selection among classics and new releases, Miyazaki’s works or Disney? To meet everyone’s demanding criteria, Benshi Studio is The answer.
First there was Benshi.fr. Created on the initiative of the Studio des Ursulines, an independent Parisian cinema specialising in arthouse films for young audiences, Benshi.fr is a site for recommendations and exchange around quality films suited to the youngest. It was designed for children and their parents, for discovering cinema as a family. Building on this expertise, the Benshi.fr team developed its project further by creating a streaming platform dedicated to very high-quality programmes for young people.
We find mostly animated films there, but also feature films, and even foreign films with subtitles. What is more, the catalogue grows day after day.
The platform’s great strength is its ease of use and its filters for choosing the right programme. So it is possible to choose your film:
– by age, which is essential for the parent
– by type of work (short, medium or feature-length film, series)
– by category (adventure, fantasy, ecological…)
It is also possible to take the cartoons with you. All this thanks to the app (Android and iOS), which lets you download and watch titles even without a network connection.
Finally, the price for this service is €4.99 per month with no commitment, which is reasonable for unlimited access to quality content for children.
